How to Prepare for Your Feminine Photoshoot – A Guide to Feeling Your Best
A feminine photoshoot is more than just capturing beautiful images—it’s about embracing the woman you are, feeling confident in your own skin, and celebrating yourself in the most authentic way.
I want you to feel safe, seen, heard, and truly beautiful during your session. To help you feel your absolute best, I’ve put together this loving guide on how to prepare for our time together. These little steps will make a huge difference in how you feel—and how much you’ll enjoy this incredible experience.
1. Get Inspired – Let’s Tailor Your Session to YOU! 💖
Every woman is unique, and your photos should reflect who you are and what makes you feel beautiful.
🌸 Before your session, spend some time on Instagram or Pinterest looking for inspiration.
💡 Look at poses, makeup styles, outfits, and overall moods that resonate with you.
📌 Save a few images that truly speak to you, and share them with me—I want to know what makes you feel excited, confident, and empowered!
Every session I do is tailored to you, and having visual inspiration helps me understand how you dream of seeing yourself in your photos.
2. The Foundation of Beauty: Self-Love & Skincare 💖
Feeling beautiful starts from within, and taking care of yourself is the first step.
✨ Hydrate: Drinking plenty of water in the days leading up to your session will make your skin glow, your lips soft, and your hair shinier.
✨ Exfoliate & Nourish: Gently exfoliating your face & body will help your skin look fresh and radiant. If you need recommendations, as a Tropic Ambassador, I’m happy to guide you!
✨ Moisturize: Keep your skin soft and supple with a hydrating lotion or oil.
3. Hair Prep: A Simple Yet Essential Step ✨
Your hair plays a huge role in your overall look!
💇♀️ If your roots need refreshing or you’re due for a trim, book a hair appointment a few days before your shoot.
💆♀️ If you don’t need a hairdresser, just make sure to wash your hair the night before the session so it’s fresh and ready for styling. (Reminder: I offer styling for mid-length & long hair only.)
⏳ If your hairdresser is styling your hair on the day of the shoot, please make sure you have enough time so you arrive on time for your session.
4. Nails Matter! 💅
Your hands and feet will be visible in many shots, so let’s make them look their best!
💖 For the most elegant, timeless look, opt for: Nude, pastels, classic red, burgundy.
🚫 Avoid neon shades, orange, lime, or having different colors on each nail, as they can be distracting in photos.
⏳ Book your nail appointment in time to avoid chipped polish or visible regrowth. If your nails need to be edited in retouching, the cost is £10 per nail.
👣 Don’t forget your toes! We may take some barefoot shots, so make sure they’re polished and neat.

5. Grooming: The Little Details That Matter 💕
Small details make a big impact on photos!
✨ Eyebrows frame your face, so shape them however you like best before your shoot.
✨ Body hair: Your choice, always! If you prefer to remove body hair, do so 1–2 days before the shoot to avoid redness or irritation. If you want body hair removed in retouching, the cost is £50 per photo.
✨ Lips: Exfoliate and moisturize your lips in the days leading up to your shoot for a soft, smooth look.
6. Makeup: Enhance, Don’t Hide 💄
Makeup should enhance your natural beauty, not mask it. If you’re doing your own makeup or visiting an artist, keep in mind:
✅ Use products that photograph well. Avoid foundations with SPF or overly dewy finishes, as they can reflect light.
✅ A little contour goes a long way. Knowing your face shape will help you place contour in the most flattering way.
✅ Choose eye makeup that makes your eye colour pop. If you’re unsure, I can help you find the perfect shades!
✅ If using a makeup artist, schedule your appointment early enough so you’re not rushed before the session.
⏳ Being late for your photoshoot due to hair or makeup delays will shorten our time together.
7. What to Wear: Outfits That Make You Feel Incredible 👗
The right clothes will enhance your beauty and confidence. Here’s how to choose the perfect outfits:
👗 Bring a variety of outfits: Think feminine, elegant, and true to your personality. Consider:
A classic white shirt & jeans
An oversized jumper for a cosy look
A structured blazer for a powerful feel
A glamorous dress you’ve been waiting for the perfect occasion to wear
🩲 Lingerie: I provide a studio wardrobe, but I recommend bringing your own nude, seamless underwear and something beautiful & lacy if you want sensual shots.
👠 Shoes complete the outfit! Bring heels, boots, or go barefoot.
✨ Make sure all clothes are ironed & presentable. There is an iron in the studio, but I’d rather spend our time capturing your beauty than ironing!
8. Mind & Body Preparation: Your Energy Matters 🧘♀️
A feminine photoshoot involves movement, stretching, and confidence. If possible, in the weeks leading up to your session:
💃 Try light stretching, yoga, or even dancing to feel more connected to your body.
💖 Your body is perfect as it is, but gentle movement can help you feel more comfortable during the shoot.
9. The Day of Your Photoshoot: A Day Just for You 💕
This experience is about celebrating YOU. Here’s how to make it special:
📅 Take the day off if possible. No rushing, no stress—just time to feel pampered.
🚗 Wear loose clothing on the way to the studio to avoid marks on your skin.
📵 Turn off your phone (or at least put it on silent). Distractions can take you out of the moment.
🍽️ Plan a treat after your session. You’ll look stunning—why not book a dinner, drinks, or a solo self-care night?
🚫 No spectators. Many women feel nervous at first, and having a friend or family member there can make it harder to relax and truly embrace the experience. Trust me, you’ve got this!
10. Retouching & Extra Editing ✨
I want you to feel stunning and confident in your images, so light, natural retouching is included in your session.
✅ Included Retouching:
Smoothing of minor blemishes, bruises, or unexpected spots
Softening of stretch marks, cellulite, or fine lines (if requested)
💰 Extra Retouching Fees:
Body hair removal: £50 per photo
Nail corrections: £10 per nail
Extensive skin or body edits: £60 per photo
11. Final Words: You Are Safe, Seen & Beautiful 💕
It’s completely normal to feel nervous before your shoot. 90% of the women I work with feel the same way at first—but trust me, this is YOUR time, and I will be there to guide you every step of the way.
I can’t wait to celebrate YOU. ✨
